Simply psychology and business

Recently I've been doing some research about psychology; motivation and encountered really interesting fact, that might be interesting to share with you folks. This might be just proof of how human psychology works or just idea for you to analyze your own trends.

Google trends - is application made by Google. These guys made tool to analyse words that are searched through the Internet. Whatever you're doing either studying for course at university, starting up your business (even non Internet business) you can easily evaluate people's taste for words and predict (forecast) if they're still interested in your products or services in any way. Google is considered to be one of the best analyser (I assume) to analyse people's behaviour worldwide.

I have used trends to analyse word motivation in order to look up if You guys are still interested in this word at all. And found (accidentally) phenomenon that I was always wondering about. "People just need more motivation in winter (December) rather than in June, July" That's mostly because I assume there's just 9 hours of sunshine, freezing cold weather and mostly cloudy/rainy weather. And in addition there is also downtrend in searching this word for last couple years. Visually it looks like this:

Motivation trend
Google trends. Interest of people in searching for word "Motivation" in last 8 years
Another interesting idea that you might use to analyse people and their "motivation" towards any searched word is to compare some words. Let's say you have business and you would like to expand - but you're not quite sure which way to go. Having online business selling stuff - You're wondering if you should add to your products sweater or simply start to sell ebooks about products (because your friend told you it's cool business nowdays). Red represents word "ebook" and blue represents word "sweater". Make your own decision:

Sweater stats
Google trends. Interest in last 8 years for word ebook and sweater.

Blue which is sweater is - again Christmas driven and winter driven. When to sell them? Before Christmas and during winter of course. When to start? Analyse google trends.
